I have recently learned the true value of friends and trust. Oddly enough, they don't always follow each other. For instance, I have many friends that I don't have complete trust in. Over this past week I have learned who I truly trust and who are truly my friends. Just for the hell of it here are my definitions of trust and friend:
friend: someone that associates with you on a regular basis, will help you through everything, and accepts you as who you are
trust: when two people have a mutual feeling of honesty and dependence
Since that's taking care of...
So this week I told my best friend my most valuable secret, knowing and hoping that he would take it and keep it secure. And, as I knew would happen, he did. I was actually quite amazed that a kid that I've known since fourth grade, could understand and keep such an important secret. I can only say "thank you" to him, for I have realized that he is my most trusted friend.
After I told him, I was nervous and happy. I now know that trusting friends is very important in life. Because without trusting friends, or friends at all for that matter, we would be absolute lost in the world. I, like many other people, depend on my friends to help me through everything. And I know that they also depend on me. After all, a friends job is to be with you through everything, not just the minor stuff.

Catch-Up
Well...here's the updated dets on my life. I know I haven't updated lately...I've been busy. So here's the shit...Ashley and I broke up...I claim irreconcilable differences. She's moved on, or so I hear. But I'm fine with that.
Cole and I are planning a very lengthy trip to Europe, we wanna go in a couple of years.
I got my car. And since Dad got me a new XM, I wired the car for that. But apparantly I can't get my liscence until I'm 17. What ev.
I dropped 2.07 seconds in two weeks in my 50 Free. Which I'm pretty proud of.

Don't Ask,Don't Tell
I know I'm a wee bit late, but I wrote this up a little bit back and I feel it should be posted. This whole thing was sparked by an incident with one of my friends on September 25th.

The policy I am referring to is the Department of Defense's Don't Ask,Don't Tell policy. I don't believe in this policy, which could be why I am angered by it. If somebody could explain to me how somebody's sexual orientation can affect their ability to protect and serve their country. Than I just might believe in the DADT policy. But because I can't find a good,non-cliche,meaningful fight for this policy, I believe it should be nonexistent.
I know if one good person, in particular, that would give his life in the military for our country. This man's sexual orientation is public, which he fine with. But in recent events, he has become worried that the openness of of his sexual orientation may affect his career in the US Navy. I would like to quote the post posted by the person who was trying to end his career:
"Why should we allow gays in the military? Especially ones as oplenly gay as this? FB> Formspring>"
I just don't get why an openly gay man, who has already stated that he will perform to the best of his ability just like everyone else, can't serve his country because he his gay while my relative can do the same job without being in jeopardy because he is straight.

Interesting Government Tidbit
The Constitution of the United States of America states:
Article 1, Section 8: The Congress shall have power:
To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defence and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;
To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;
To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;
To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States
So, as you can see, the Founding Fathers decided that the Congress of the United States of America has the power,right,and duty to control all financial matters involving the United States of America.
As you know, the Treasury/Mint is under the control of the Department of the Treasury; Which is under the command of the President and the Executive Branch.
Obviously, we have a problem. The President, whose job is to "Support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, is knowingly going against the Constitution; The object that he is supposedly supporting and defending.
I believe that we need to change this. I think that we need a bill to be passed that makes Congress responsible for minting and creating money.
So, that being said, I hereby state:
I,Christopher J Drummond, will be absolutely sure to work to pass and create this bill, when I became a Senator. I swear to do this.
I can only hope that I will be able to fix all of the discrepancies that our government has. For, in some cases, our government is going against what the Constitution states.

Facebook Friends...And my mother....
The above screenshot will be the starting point of my anger and disappointment.
The response by my "friends" Tyler and Andrea, and even by my brother Andrew, do not cause not nearley the same amount of anger and disappoinment caused by my mother.
1) Who is she to write that? I don't really give a crap what you thought "from the moment" I "was born"; Because quite frankly, I can change whatever you thought regardless of what it was.
2) I am not gay, although she may think so.
3) Ashley, who "liked" the status, was involved in the inside joke that became the posting.
As you can imagine, I deleted my mother shortly after that posting. And she came back with the following message:

So, I ask you this:
1) Why does she have to be my friend, when other realitves and her friends are my friends on FB?
2) Also, I am okay with her being my friend on FB as long as she doesn't comment on anything, when she herself has said "I don't even want to comment on your status or anything"; MHM! You totally did.
So this is my anger against my mother, just fueling the fire that is why I want to go to college and leave the state, and her.

Okay first of all, I am not going to say that I have an issue with religion, I don't.
But i do find it hard to believe that about 3/4 of my graduating class are becoming so in depth with their religion that it isn't even funny. I just think that most of these kids, that are part of these "youth groups", are only doing this because their parents want them to. I believe this, not only because I am an Atheist, but because these children are being educated in school to believe against creationist beliefs; yet they are being taught contradicting ideas in their "Confirmation Classes" and "Mass". So I guess what I am saying is that: "Are these children making their own decisions when it comes to religion/anti-religion?"
I believe that children should be brought into religion from birth, but when they reach the age of 14, they should decide if they want to continue being in an active church or become an Atheist. Because when you truly think about it, children are forced into a believe of a "god", "afterlife", and "creationism". After all, originally, all people are Atheists from birth. Religion has to be taught to them.
Okay, well I think that I have covered my religion basis.

Medical Reform
In recent news.... Medical Reform is making huge waves in my mind. In essence, I don't believe that my (when I say "my", I mean my families) taxes to pay for people who could afford private insurance.
I mean really??? I can't figure out how any person,especially in government, could think that they can provide medical funds for every person in America. It is virtually impossible, mainly because of the number of undocumented aliens in our country; I theorize that we can not go through with any federally-funded medical system for "all Americans" unless we first tackle the issue of illegal immigrants.
I also theorize that if this plan were to be passed, it would deminish the funding for our military. The military known around the world as one that is tofeared, admired by all countries. I think that if we allow this medical system to be allowed, the standards set by our military, that every country wishes to aspire to, will fail its self. For example, in Canada, the federal government provides medical insurance to all; Yet, most people, and historians, would agree that when asked to compile a list of the Top 10 Most Powerful Militarys in The World, they wouldn't even think of Canada.
I am stating that: Military power and medical funding are directly related. Mostly because when one has a budget, one must give percentages of said budget to indivual departements. Hence if one increase funding to the medical department, one must take away from the military department. Grandpa
My grandfather, Gregory A. Drummond, was a wonderful person. An American History teacher, extremely active member of the community, loving, charismatic, and overall a great person. He loved everyone, a trait hardly found now.
He has been a huge inspiration to me. He sparked my interest in American History, he inspired me to work in the Community, read( alot!), he was probably the reason that I speak my mind and my opinion (so I guess he inspired this blog), he has also made me realize what anyone can do to help is enough. He has been a big part of me and he will never know how much of a part he is.
I must say that although I don't think of you all the time, Grandpa, I do think alot of you when something sparks a memory. Such as a discussion in any Social Studies class, that I think that you might have had fun intervening in;or when I go to the JFF and work, where I think of all the times that you were in the bank; And sometimes when me and Grandma are together and I think "Man, Grandpa would have loved this"; and even when Grandma and I discuss things that you would have liked. Especially, when it came to my grades and what I learned in American History class :). I like to think that you have made me do well in that class, purely, because you enjoyed the topic as much as I do.
All I can say here is:

My Theory of the Importance of Government; By the People,Of the People, and For the People

Friends
I have recently learned the true meaning of friendship. It was taught to me by a good friend, who helped me incredibly this morning. She know that I was upset about something, yet didn't know what it was. She didn't stalk me out asking, she just told me to just "tell me when I want to", she helped me get through it even though she had no idea what "it" was. Even, when I told her, she knew what to say/do to help me through everything. You truly don't know who is your best friend until something goes wrong, then they are the ones that stand beside you, even though they know that you are breaking down inside.
I would like to thank Alexzandria Barry for helping me through my tough situation this morning, I really appreciated it. You have helped me through more than you could ever know. Thank you.

I think that this song sums up my relationship with my mother.
I think that my mother is under the impression that I am exactly like my brother and that I will act like he does. Well, I don't. Purely because we have some same personality traits and we have common interests, does NOT mean we are the same.She constantly compares me and him.
It is really annoying because I am the type of person that enjoys his opinion and likes to voice it.I don't thinks that she knows or is prepared how to react when I voice that opinion because my brother never did speak of his opinion to her. I personally don't feel that I should have my voice restricted because of what her or her friends will think. I am a HUGE believer in the First Amendment,which says that I can have an opinion and that I can voice it,peacefully. I speak peacefully(most of the time :P ) , so to what cause does anyone have to stop me from speaking?None, if you can come up with one, tell me. The Forgotten Amendment: The 1st Amendment
I don't believe that anyone could say this better then the Beatles in their song "Revolution". My interpretion of these lyrics is essential: To always speak your mind, although you know that people aren't going to like. But this will always happen.
I think that another way of saying this is in Linkin Park's song "Hands Held High" : "Say something that you know they might attack you for,
cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before
like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for."
Why is it that it is ok for audlts to use this right, but not people under the age of 18? Is it because we don't have opinions? Guess what, we DO. Or is it because they think that we are too immature to have rational thoughts? Well guess what, most of us ARE.
Maybe every citizen needs to read over these admendments that give everyone the rights that they think only apply to certian people. Maybe they need to read over the ideas that most other people wish they could annouce. Maybe they need to read over these rights that we treasure so dearly, yet most of us don't even know what some of them mean or are. Can any adult that reads this blog tell me how many admendments their are in the Bill of Rights, without looking it up in your Google Search Bar??? No, most can't. Why not? Because they haven't actually looked at these admendments that you cherish so much.
Why don't all of you just do your selves and every other person in this world a favor, and read what you think is so great about the United States? Here's a big hint, look through the Constitution of the United States of America and the Declaration of Independence.You don't even have to read the whole thing, just SKIM it. Please!

Concept of the Morning
Why is it that whenever parents actually wake up at a decent time ,oh say six, they think that you are so late and that you will miss your bus? Then they check on you like every five minutes. So generally, after like 15 minutes of them screaming at you, you finally freak on them and say "MOM, I WAS READY 10 MINUTES AGO!" Do they not think that we do this every day, by OURSELVES! And then, most of them, have no concept of time in the morning. It is so annoying! And they wonder why you freak on them

Students Punished for FB Group
Students Punished for Facebook Group
Students in my district have been punished for speaking their mind. Granted that some the things said, should not have been said, but I believe strongly in the 1st Amendment and the Right to Free Speech. Although the students spoke their opinion in a rude way, they shouldn't be punished for it. These students have the right to their own opinion and to speak it. Maybe, Dr Melvin should consider all ideas before punishing any of these children. Their parents should have taken some responsibility as to the fact that these students are just that children. Also, due to the fact that the incident occurred outside of school, the school district should not be included in any part of it. I feel that if it does not stop any body from attending school or work, then the school should not be involved. This incident should be taught, through the school, that all actions of consequences. I certainly think that this could have been handled in a different way.
I will post more if I feel it fit.
