The Constitution of the United States of America states:
Article 1, Section 8: The Congress shall have power:
To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defence and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;
To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;
To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;
To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States
So, as you can see, the Founding Fathers decided that the Congress of the United States of America has the power,right,and duty to control all financial matters involving the United States of America.
As you know, the Treasury/Mint is under the control of the Department of the Treasury; Which is under the command of the President and the Executive Branch.
Obviously, we have a problem. The President, whose job is to "Support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, is knowingly going against the Constitution; The object that he is supposedly supporting and defending.
I believe that we need to change this. I think that we need a bill to be passed that makes Congress responsible for minting and creating money.
So, that being said, I hereby state:
I,Christopher J Drummond, will be absolutely sure to work to pass and create this bill, when I became a Senator. I swear to do this.
I can only hope that I will be able to fix all of the discrepancies that our government has. For, in some cases, our government is going against what the Constitution states.
